Koydasil HPH-MW is a silicone emulsion based on polydimethylsiloxane produced by DOW Chemical Company and under their technical support.
Koydasil HPH-MW is intended for treatment of various porous, fibrous materials, including mineral and glass wool, as well as to confer water repellency to them by spraying, painting or adding it to bonding solution or hydro mass.
Koydasil HPH-MW is a 50% emulsion of silicone organic fluid in water with the addition of a stabilizer and various target components.
In comparison with oil-based water repellents - Koydasil HPH-MW has a lower dosage and provides a higher level of water repellency.
The water repellent is recommended to be stored at a temperature of from 5°C to 35°C in the original unopened package; however, it can withstand up to 5 freeze-thaw cycles without loss of its consumer properties, which allow you to transport it during the clod season by any transport and store it in unheated rooms.
The product is also not flammable, which allow you to obtain all the required fire certificates without any problems!
In addition, the use of our Koydasil HPH-MW water repellent prevents the formation of fine dust during production of fiberglass mats or mineral wool mats at no additional cost.
Recommended use of Koydasil HPH-MW
To enhance the adhesion between the formaldehyde resin (binder) and the material, we suggest you considering the option of using the following complementary products:
- Koydasil HPH-MW water repellent at a dosage of 0.3-0.5% by weight of mineral (glass) wool.
- Xiameter OFS- 6020 silane is produced by DOW Chemical Company - a dosage is 0.003% (30 g/ton) by weight of mineral (glass) wool.*
In this case, the mixture of emulsions is also mixed with a solution of phenolic resin and other additives and applied by spraying method as well.
